What about the thousands of women? Flight Officer was a womens rank, equivalent of captain, indicating she was in charge of a flight, meaning a company commander.

The page containing RAF ranks has some errors in it. I was an officer in the RCAF in the 1960s, and we used the same ranks and abbreviations as the British in those days.

The rank you have as Flight Officer should be Flying Officer.

Your abbreviations for officer ranks are also incorrect.

Officer ranks all used capital letters and slashes so that Group Captain was G/C, Wing Commander was W/C, and so forth. Non-commissioned ranks did not use slashes. The correct designation for a Flight Sergeant is FS. There were two classes of Warrant Officer - classes 1 and 2. These were abbreviated as WO1 and WO2.

LAC also had a female equivalent - LAW, Leading Aircraftswoman.

You left out SAC - Senior Aircraftsman - in your R.A.F. ranks.
